Dropshipping At Christmas

Won't be long now ( I know you don't want to hear about it ) before sales starting going through the roof. This is one of the peak selling times of the year. For sellers online & shops what they make tides them over to around March. Anyway, dropshipping needs to be planned for all possibilitys like last year the bad weather hit everybody. Some of the nightmare storys were, item hasn't arrived because of the snow. The amount of claims that went it for refunds was unbelieveable. I know of a few ebay sellers who's 100% feedback was ripped apart because of the negatives left. Buyers weren't concerned that it was with postman pat they wanted it now end of. So not only were people getting refunded some of them actually received the item but claimed they didn't. Like everything in life there are plus's with dropshipping and negatives as well. This also affected wholesalers and other people who didn't drop ship. If you are dropshipping from China make sure you give a cut off date for ordering. I am probably telling the experienced one's out there how to suck eggs but i know there will be some people just starting out so this is for them. Make sure you have enough funds to refund otherwise it will be a very bad christmas.

Please remember alot of returns happen after christmas as well so be prepared. Make sure your returns policy is upto date and in line with the distance selling regulations.  If it isn't start reading up on it now. This is your business get it in order and don't complain if something goes wrong. Its harsh i know but its a cruel world out there, especially for sellers. If you have got wind of the hottest selling christmas item don't rely on dropshipping buy some in bulk as well. I have put the title as, dropshipping at christmas but it could well be any other day. At present i am seeing alot of people who are drop shipping complaining because they are getting emails saying item not received, they in turn canot get any communication from their dropshipper and are having to refund. Its a cruel world they won't be the first and they certainly won't be the last to experience this. Beware of the unexpected. Don't just rely on ebay for selling use every avenue you can think off. For example, friends & family, your work place, gumtree etc.
