Apple launches iPhone4S

Not what everybody was expecting but below is just some of the news reports from various people  when to expect the launch of the Apple iPhone 4S

Pcr Newsflash

Tim Cook unveils updated version of previous model, rather than brand new device
Apple has announced the iPhone 4S, an updated version of the previous generation iPhone4.
All the updates are under the bonnet - the device has an A5 chip roughly twice the speed of the previous model, duel core graphics, a higher res camera and a GB of RAM.
It will hit the UK on OCtober 14th.
CEO Tim Cook took center stage at Apple's Infinite Loop building in Cuppertino, having taken over from Steve Jobs earlier this year.
Speculation was rife in the run up to the event, and many were expecting a slightly more groundbreaking announcement from the consumer electronic giant, such as the launch of a brand new device.Investors may have felt the same way, since Apple's share prices have dropped 3 per cent.
However the technical updates do keep the phone firmly on top of the specs pile - which at this stage of Apple's popularity is all it really needs to do - and is a much needed move considering some of the super-powered Samsung and HTC devices hitting the market.
The firm also launched an updated version of iOS, some new cheaper iPod SKUs, and announced the launch date of iCloud as October 12th.

Bloomberg

Apple Inc. (AAPL), in its first product unveiling since Steve Jobsresigned as chief executive officer, introduced a faster iPhone with voice features and a higher- resolution camera to help it vie withGoogle Inc. (GOOG)’s Android. The new iPhone 4S’s A5 chip will be seven times faster than the old processor, Apple said today at an event at its headquarters in Cupertino, California. The model will cost $199, $299 and $399, depending on features, and will be sold by Sprint Nextel Corp. (S) for the first time. Apple already has agreements with AT&T Inc. (T) andVerizon Wireless. The update of Apple’s best-selling product marks an early test for Tim Cook, CEO since Aug. 24, who hasn’t yet shown he can match his predecessor’s skills at product design and marketing. While the iPhone is the world’s most popular smartphone, Google’s Android software is more widely used, showing up in devices from Samsung Electronics Co. and HTC Corp. Shares slumped today during the presentation after Apple failed to announce a more groundbreaking iPhone 5 model.“There is some disappointment that only one new iPhone has been announced,” said Shaw Wu, an analyst at Birmingham, Alabama-based Sterne Agee.Jobs, who remains Apple’s chairman, didn’t appear at the event today. The 56-year-old has taken three medical leaves over the past seven years amid a battle with a rare form of cancer.
Camera Phone. The iPhone 4S, available Oct. 14, will have a camera with 60 percent more pixels and can handle high-definition video. The device also relies on an “intelligent antenna system” that’s designed to improve call quality and works with both CDMA and GSM wireless standards. Users will have up to 8 hours of talk time on one charge. “For many customers, the iPhone 4S will be the best still camera they’ve ever owned, the best video camera they’ve ever owned, and it’s with them all the time,” said Phil Schiller, a senior vice president in charge of product marketing. A new voice-recognition system, meanwhile, will turn the device into a hands-free personal assistant. The technology lets users check weather, get directions or surf the Web using speech commands. Apple already had basic voice-control abilities on the iPhone for placing a call or accessing a song. Apple acquired a speech-recognition software company last year called Siri, which helped it develop the new features. The system relies on artificial intelligence to handle users’ questions.
‘Who Are You?’
Scott Forstall, a senior vice president in charge of iPhone software, demonstrated the technology on stage by asking the phone, “Who are you?”  It responded, “I am a humble personal assistant.”  The features, combined with the more aggressive prices, will give Apple an edge, said Andy Hargreaves, an analyst at Pacific Crest Securities in Portland, Oregon.  “Siri is very unique from what I’ve seen and should continue to differentiate them at the high end,” he said.  The older iPhone 4 model will now cost $99, and the iPhone 3GS will be free with a wireless contract, Apple said.  The company also demonstrated iCloud, a new service for storing files such as pictures and music on Apple’s remote servers. That means the files can be accessed through iPads, iPhones and Macs, and mobile devices no longer have to sync up to a computer. Apple will give away advertising-free e-mail as part of the service, which comes out Oct. 12.

Twitter Features

Apple showed off other new software features, including an integration with Twitter Inc. that lets users quickly post updates to the social-blogging service. Apple’s new iOS 5 operating system, which runs its mobile devices, also will be available for free on Oct. 12.  The iPhone accounted for almost half Apple’s sales in the most recent quarter. Combined, the iPhone, iPad tablet and iPod Touch touch-screen media player have sold 250 million units in total, Apple said today. There are now more than 500,000 applications in the company’s App Store, which has generated $3 billion for developers since its debut in 2008.  “In three years, customers have downloaded 18 billion apps -- and it’s accelerating,” Forstall said at today’s event. The rate is now over 1 billion per month, he said.  The company also is making inroads with corporate users. Ninety-three percent of Fortune 500 companies are testing the iPhone for use by their employees, and 92 percent are trying out the iPad, Apple said today.

Smartphone Showdown

At stake is leadership in the market for smartphones, which is projected to double by 2015, when 1 billion of the handsets will be sold, according to research firm IDC. While Apple is the single biggest smartphone maker, the Android coalition leads the market, accounting for 41.7 percent.  It’s been 16 months since the last iPhone release -- a longer lag than usual. The pent-up demand may help Apple sell a record 25 million iPhones during the December quarter, according to estimates by Gene Munster, an analyst at Piper Jaffray Cos. The lack of an all-new iPhone, with a different outer design, won’t deter buyers, he said.  “Everyone would have liked a new form factor, but they’re still going to sell a boatload, and there will be long lines,” Munster said. “It’s less about hardware and more about software and services.”
Pcmag
Apple on Tuesday finally unveiled a new iPhone—the iPhone 4S.  Sprint was also added to the iPhone carrier lineup.  Pre-orders for the device start October 7 and they will be in stores on October 14. The iPhone 4S will come in black and white. A 16GB will cost $199, the 32GB will be $299, and, for the first time, a 64GB version will be $399.  "Don't be fooled. Inside it is all new," Apple's Phil Schiller said. That includes Apple's new dual-core A5 chip, as well as dual-core graphics and 7x faster performance, with the same retina display found on the iPhone 4.  Schiller said users will get eight hours of 3G talk time with the iPhone 4S, for the first time. He also said the device will "intelligently switch between two antennas to improve call quality" and double download speeds. It will support HSPA+ 14.4, which can deliver speeds up to 14.4 Mbps.
The "world phone" will support both CDMA and GSM networks.  One of the updates coming to the 4S is voice recognition. "We really just want to be able to talk to our device. Tell it what we want and have it do it for you," Forstall said.
iPhone 4S
Last year, Apple acquired voice-recognition application startup Siriand added some voice-to-text features to iOS 4. That option will be beefed up with the iPhone 4S to understand context and allow you to speak naturally when you ask it questions, Apple said.
Forstall asked Siri for the weather, for example, and it spit out the forecast. It also told him the time in Paris, and the status of the NASDAQ, and also provided restaurant recommendations for Palo Alto, sourced from Yelp.
Siri can also read messages aloud so you don't have to read them on the screen, Forstall said. Voice-activated search is also supported.
Siri is incorporated into the navigation of the device, so you can have Siri do just about anything you would do with your phone, according to Forstall. "You can manage your calendar now with your voice. You can compose and dictate emails right to Siri."
The technology will initially include support for English, French, and German. It will debut as a beta, meaning Apple will add more languages and services over time.
Apple boasted about the phone's camera capabilities, arguing that it will be better than the average point and shoot device. The 4S's camera will include an 8-megapixel sensor with 60 percent more pixels, hybrid IR filter for better image quality, five element lens, f/2.4 aperture for better low-light performance, and advanced face-detection algorithms, as well as 1080p video recording.  The iPhone 4S will come pre-loaded with iOS 5, which will make its debut on October 12, along with iCloud.  Schiller made the announcement at a press event at Apple's Cupertino headquarters, where Tim Cook also took the stage for the first time as CEO.  Cook said the iPhone 4 accounts for more than half of all the iPhones sold since the device's inception. "It's pummeling the competition," he said.  Apple also talked up its iPad tablet, and said Apple has now sold more than 250 million iOS devices. About 92 percent of Fortune 500 companies are also testing or deploying the tablet, which Cook said is "unheard of." Despite the competition, the iPad is "the undisputed, top selling tablet in the world," he said.  Rumors about Apple's next iPhone, meanwhile, have been making the rounds for the better part of a year, with reports of a completely revamped device, an edge-to-edge screen, no NFC (well, maybe), and an 8-megapixel camera, among other things.  Attention soon turned to when Apple might unveil the new device. For the last two years, Apple has announced its new iPhone at its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June. This year, however, Steve Jobs took to the stage to provide a glimpse of iOS 5 and Mac OS X Lion, but did not show off a new iPhone. Attention then turned to Apple's fall music event—September? October? Never? We finally got our answer late last month, when Apple sent out invites for today's event, urging attendees to "talk iPhone."

Dropshipping F14 twin 70mm Jolly Roger Top Gun EDF RC Jet PNP Version

For the "Top Gun" pilots amongst us feast your eyes on this beauty. This model flys almost like the real thing so you could be the next "Top Gun".

The picture above is of the real thing and not the model.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, variable-sweep winged aircraft. It was the United States Navy's primary maritime air superiority fighter, fleet defence interceptor and tactical reconnaissance platform from 1974 to 2006. In 1986, the F-14 was the main aircraft featured in the Tom Cruise film Top Gun, spawning a surge in U.S. Navy recruiting. The F-14 Tomcat was designed as both an air superiority fighter and a long-range naval interceptor, it has a two seat cockpit with a canopy that gives all-round visibility.

The Tomcat's defining feature is its variable geometry wings that swing automatically during flight; for high-speed intercept, they are swept back, and they then swing forward again for lower speed flight. It has a maximum speed of Mach 2.34 (1,544 mph) at high altitude, and has a service ceiling of 50,000 ft.

The model is finished to a very high standard to represent the real thing. The F14 model has a massive wingspan of 1100mm so it will dominate the skyline. If you want speed  then this is just the plane for you.

his model is an amazing 3D aerobatic aircraft, and capable of incredible speed. The twin engined punch that this plane packs allows it to perform a full aerobatic display: inside loops, outside loops, axial rolls, inverted flight, knife edge, stall turns, hammerheads, and spins are all possible. If you're really good you will be able to perform the famous 'Cobra Manoeuvre' with this Tomcat.*

Funds Being Held By Paypal Or Banks Etc

When you sell a item you want paying A.S.A.P. don't we. One of the most successful payment avenues is "Paypal" If you already sell on ebay then you know you have to accept paypal. Now paypal take a cut of your selling price it could be for example 3.4% + 20p depends on who you are. There are about 14 million sellers using paypal in the UK that is alot of money being paid into their account. There was a article today from a national tabloid which i am going to cut and paste so you can have a very good read about paypal. Sit up and take notice there is a lesson to be learn't which could affect you wether you like it or not.

The payments processing company used by up to 14 million people has been accused of using anti-fraud measures “too zealously”
PayPal has been accused of holding small businesses and amateur traders on eBay hostage by barring customers from accessing their money for up to six months.
The processing company used by up to 14 million people in the UK boasts of being “the fastest, safest payment service on the planet”. But thousands of customers, from medium-sized enterprises to amateur traders on eBay, have their accounts “limited” each year on unproven and automatically generated suspicions of fraud, and are prevented from cashing payments. For individual customers this is frustrating but for small businesses it can be fatal.
Phil McCabe, a senior policy adviser of the Forum of Private Businesses, says: “With small firms across the UK already owed some £24 billion in late payments, PayPal’s withholding of payments is extremely frustrating.”
Most people encounter PayPal on eBay, the internet marketplace, which offers a cheap and easy way for small and medium-sized enterprises to sell goods and services. Anyone selling on eBay must have a PayPal account, and in many cases business proceeds smoothly. However, under PayPal’s terms and conditions it can freeze an account and keep cash on hold for 180 days if a transaction is flagged as “high-risk”.
While customers accept that this helps to prevent fraud, they say that PayPal employs the practice too zealously. It has also been accused of being obstructive to customers desperate to get their accounts unlocked. This has led to anger in the small-business community as it can leave enterprises already struggling in the tough economic environment without essential cash.
Christopher Taylor, operations manager of Mobile Distribution Solutions, Liverpool, has vowed never to use Pay-Pal again after it withheld £900 of payments and sent e-mails to customers wrongly implying there had been fraudulent activity on his business’s account.
Mr Taylor, 31, says: “We are a mobile handset distributor and mainly operate in the wholesale market but earlier this year we decided to sell to retail customers via eBay. It was going quite successfully for a number of weeks until PayPal said that it was going to limit our account for 180 days.”
When this occurred there were payments worth £900 in the company’s account, which the business was suddenly unable to access. To make matters worse, money held in a PayPal account earns no interest for the customer. Pay-Pal, though, can earn interest on the balances left in its system.
Mr Taylor says: “We have a high enough turnover not to worry but for some companies £900 can be the difference between making it or breaking it. It was only when we threatened legal action that, lo and behold, the account was unfrozen.”
PayPal’s criteria for determining what transactions are “high risk” can catch sellers out, warns Anthony Trollope, managing director of The Wholesale Forums, a networking website. He says: “Many businesses cite PayPal’s often complex and long-winded rules as the ultimate reason their PayPal accounts were suspended — in some cases with thousands of pounds held for an indeterminate time period as a result. These are not merely isolated cases of business naivety but catch even the most experienced business owners out.”
In Mr Taylor’s case the fact that he was dealing in mobile phones was enough to put him into the “high-risk” category.
Hugo Costa, 22, had his account frozen because he did not have enough positive “feedback” comments, a situation that he found maddening because it was out of his control.
Mr Costa, of Ealing, West London, set up HD Station, a business selling electrical equipment, computer games and film merchandise, in July last year. After he had made four or five sales on eBay he received an e-mail saying that PayPal was freezing his account and the funds wouldn’t be released until he received positive customer feedback. Regular users of eBay will know that the website displays sellers’ positive and negative feedback ratings from buyers.
Mr Costa says: “After we got 30 good feedback statements the limit was removed but that meant we were left three months without access to our money.”
It wasn’t long before his account was frozen again, this time because he was doing an increasing amount of trade on eBay. This time it was a “sudden change in selling activities” that marked him out as high-risk.
Cathy Donald, a 23-year-old PR consultant from Watford, Hertfordshire, felt equally poorly treated when her account was frozen because of one piece of negative feedback.
Ms Donald is not a small-business woman but one of the army of part-time traders who sells items on eBay to make a little extra money. When some clothing she sold went missing in the post the buyer posted a poor review on the eBay website. As a result, her account was frozen and she was unable to withdraw any of her money. Although she has offered a refund to the buyer, she has been told that until she has more positive feedback she will have to wait 21 days before she can get her hands on payments made into her account.
She says: “Until I get more positive feedback PayPal are going to keep withholding my money each time I receive a payment, so I don’t particularly want to sell on eBay again because I know this is going to keep happening. It’s a bit of a catch-22.”
Rob Skinner, of PayPal, says: “It’s certainly true that we treat some goods as higher risk than others. Top smartphones and computers, for example, are tempting targets for fraudsters because of their value and the overwhelming demand for them. Other factors we consider are a seller’s track record, complaints and the number of chargebacks received — and a sudden large spike in money being received. Our aim is to protect other customers and PayPal from losses.”
PayPal refuses to say how many accounts are frozen each year, and it emphasises that it is mainly new and untested sellers who risk a freeze. But even if only a small percentage of total sellers are affected, that still runs into hundreds of thousands of users. When it does happen traders say that the company’s poor customer service adds to their frustration.
Mr Taylor says: “The attitude of the staff was derogatory. I was told that PayPal was like a bank, as if that excused everything. But if NatWest told me it was freezing my account for 180 days I would move to another bank. You don’t have that choice on eBay.”
Shelley Michaels, a 25-year-old trainee lawyer from Bedfordshire, was so incensed when PayPal refused to unfreeze her account and hand over her money that she took the company to court.
She says: “I called them 12 times and provided them with the information they asked for but the customer support was very unhelpful.”
Mr Skinner says: “I would like to apologise to any customer who’s had a poor experience with PayPal. This is unacceptable, and we’re keen to learn from these experiences.”
He adds: “The 180-day period was traditionally used because consumers often had up to 180 days to raise a chargeback on their credit card. It’s important to note that the 180-day period does not apply to all customers — many have no such restrictions, while others may see funds withheld for shorter periods. We are continually reviewing our approach and developing more sophisticated ways of assessing the risk, and in many cases releasing funds sooner. It’s worth remembering that we have over 14 million customers in the UK, and the vast majority of transactions go like clockwork.”
Case study: ‘No justification for holding on to my funds’
Many eBay traders who discover that their PayPal account has been frozen dejectedly accept it, while some release their frustration through websites such as PayPalSucks.com and PayPalWarning.com. Others take their complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. But Shelley Michaels, a trainee lawyer from Bedfordshire, was so angered by how she was treated that she took PayPal to court — and won.
Ms Michaels has been using eBay for five years, recently to sell DVDs, video games and iPads, and had never had a problem. Then earlier this year she sold goods worth £1,814 — a higher amount than usual, triggering a “high-risk” alert. The next thing she knew, her account had been frozen.
She says: “I provided receipts for the computer tablets and the video games consoles to show that I had lawfully obtained the items. I also supplied information to prove that buyers had received the items. I had even received positive feedback for some of the electronics in question.”
But even after 12 phone calls to request that her money be released PayPal still refused to budge. Fearing that her money would be in limbo for 180 days, she bought a County Court claim against PayPal and won her case in Milton Keynes this month.
She says: “The judge said that PayPal had no justification for withholding my funds and ordered it to pay interest and costs.”
Rob Skinner, of PayPal, says: “We accept we handled this case badly and have apologised to the customer.”

We are told they do this to protect themselves from fraud. The lesson here is you need to have multiple avenues for getting funds quickly in case your money is held by paypal or the banks etc. If one vault is locked you need to find the key quickly to carry on trading. I am informed this is business in the real world.

I could spend all day writing down every single item in pet accessories which you could drop ship but i won't as i think you know what i mean. What i will do is go over the basic skills for drop shipping as some people are still not sure. 1) You list your items on ebay ( we will use that for now as your selling point ) 2) when a buyer buys your item they then send you the money by paypal ( most used method of paying on ebay ) 3) Once you receive payment, 4) you then pay your dropshipper the amount for the item ordered by your buyer. 5) Your dropshipper then packs and posts he item to your buyer. The price you sell it for is up to you you will need to research that part.

Dropshipping At Christmas

Won't be long now ( I know you don't want to hear about it ) before sales starting going through the roof. This is one of the peak selling times of the year. For sellers online & shops what they make tides them over to around March. Anyway, dropshipping needs to be planned for all possibilitys like last year the bad weather hit everybody. Some of the nightmare storys were, item hasn't arrived because of the snow. The amount of claims that went it for refunds was unbelieveable. I know of a few ebay sellers who's 100% feedback was ripped apart because of the negatives left. Buyers weren't concerned that it was with postman pat they wanted it now end of. So not only were people getting refunded some of them actually received the item but claimed they didn't. Like everything in life there are plus's with dropshipping and negatives as well. This also affected wholesalers and other people who didn't drop ship. If you are dropshipping from China make sure you give a cut off date for ordering. I am probably telling the experienced one's out there how to suck eggs but i know there will be some people just starting out so this is for them. Make sure you have enough funds to refund otherwise it will be a very bad christmas.

Please remember alot of returns happen after christmas as well so be prepared. Make sure your returns policy is upto date and in line with the distance selling regulations.  If it isn't start reading up on it now. This is your business get it in order and don't complain if something goes wrong. Its harsh i know but its a cruel world out there, especially for sellers. If you have got wind of the hottest selling christmas item don't rely on dropshipping buy some in bulk as well. I have put the title as, dropshipping at christmas but it could well be any other day. At present i am seeing alot of people who are drop shipping complaining because they are getting emails saying item not received, they in turn canot get any communication from their dropshipper and are having to refund. Its a cruel world they won't be the first and they certainly won't be the last to experience this. Beware of the unexpected. Don't just rely on ebay for selling use every avenue you can think off. For example, friends & family, your work place, gumtree etc.
